CI/CD Pipeline (GitOps)
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is powerful, but writing complex YAML pipelines to orchestrate zero-downtime deployments often becomes a full-time job.
Scenario 1 (Easy): The Automated Staging Deploy
The Challenge: Your team merges 20 pull requests a day. You need those changes to instantly deploy to the staging servers.
The RasnuOS Solution:
- The Inbound Webhook: You generate an Inbound Webhook URL for your
Staging Fleetinside RasnuOS. - The Pipeline Hook: In your GitHub Actions config, you add a single step after unit tests pass: a
curlrequest to the webhook. - The Orchestration: RasnuOS receives the webhook, instructs the Staging Agents to pull the code, run the build tools (e.g.,
go build), and execute a graceful reload.
Scenario 2 (Hard): Multi-Phase Blue/Green Production Rollouts
The Challenge: You are deploying a massive update to your core banking API. You cannot simply overwrite the code on all 50 production servers at once. You need a Blue/Green deployment strategy: deploy the new code to 5 servers, monitor them for 10 minutes, and if no errors occur, deploy to the remaining 45 servers. Building this logic natively in GitLab CI is incredibly brittle.
The RasnuOS Solution:
- The Phased Blueprint: In the RasnuOS dashboard, you define a Deployment Recipe with a "Canary Phase".
- The Initial Trigger: When GitLab CI hits the RasnuOS Webhook, the Control Plane initiates the Canary Phase, upgrading only 5 servers.
- Telemetry Validation: Instead of blindly waiting 10 minutes, RasnuOS actively monitors the telemetry of those 5 servers. If the Agent detects a sudden spike in HTTP 500 errors or a dramatic increase in CPU load, the Control Plane automatically halts the deployment, instantly rolls those 5 servers back to the previous Git commit, and fires a critical alert to Slack.
- Automated Completion: If the telemetry remains perfectly healthy for the 10-minute window, the Control Plane autonomously proceeds to Phase 2, upgrading the remaining 45 servers with absolute zero-downtime.
