AI-Driven Incident Resolution

When a critical infrastructure incident occurs at 3:00 AM, human engineers are prone to making mistakes under pressure. Typing the wrong command or misinterpreting a log file can exacerbate the outage. RasnuOS's AutoPilot is built to remove that pressure.

Scenario 1 (Easy): The Crashed Daemon

The Challenge: Your Node.js API server crashed overnight. Users are seeing 502 errors. The on-call engineer gets paged but doesn't know which server is affected or why the process died.

The RasnuOS Solution:

  1. Proactive Detection: RasnuOS's Health Checks detect the failed HTTP responses within seconds and immediately fire alerts to Slack and PagerDuty, including the specific server name and its last known metric readings.
  2. Contextual Diagnostics: The engineer opens the RasnuOS AutoPilot on their phone and asks: "Why did the production API server go offline?"
  3. Instant Analysis: The AutoPilot reads the server's recent telemetry and system journal logs and responds with a precise explanation: "The Node.js process exited with signal SIGSEGV at 03:12 UTC. Disk space on /var was at 99.4% at the time of crash, which likely caused a fatal write failure."
  4. Remediation: The engineer instructs: "Clear the old log files and restart the API daemon." The AutoPilot executes the cleanup and gracefully restarts the process, restoring the service.

Scenario 2 (Hard): Cascading Database Connection Exhaustion

The Challenge: A slow SQL query locks a critical table on your production PostgreSQL database. Your application servers keep spawning new connections attempting to read from it, rapidly exhausting the database's maximum connection limit. This causes a cascading failure: your API returns 500 errors, your background job queue stalls, and your frontend goes blank — all triggered by a single rogue query.

The RasnuOS Solution:

  1. Autonomous Incident Detection: RasnuOS's Health Checks detect cascading failures across multiple Server Groups and fire a high-priority incident alert to Slack, identifying the database server as the root bottleneck based on the pattern of failures.
  2. AI Telemetry Analysis: The on-call engineer opens the AutoPilot on their phone and asks: "What queries are currently locking tables on the production database?"
  3. Live State Inspection: The AutoPilot executes a targeted diagnostic command against the live database to inspect active sessions and immediately returns the exact offending query and its process ID.
  4. Surgical Remediation: The engineer instructs: "Terminate that query and gracefully restart the API servers to flush their connection pools." The AutoPilot kills the specific blocking process and performs a rolling restart of the web tier — all without dropping any new incoming traffic. The cascading failure is halted in under 60 seconds from a smartphone, with zero SSH access required.
